Team Newfoundland: Rural Guatemala, Jan ‘23
Our first mission to rural Guatemala
This January, team Newfoundland is sending a small team of medical professional volunteers to the outskirts of Guatemala on a rural health mission. Physicians, nurses, and logistical volunteers will spend the week seeing families in need of medical care and will triage surgical cases as needed for future operations.
Families living in rural Guatemala face significant barriers to accessing the healthcare they need. Financial barriers, transportation limits and unavailability of medical services leaves families in precarious, and often life-threatening, situations. With the country’s high birth rate, mothers are birthing children alone, children are malnourished and those in need of surgery are not able to get the care they need to provide for their families.

Team Broken Earth is just beginning to bring medical care to rural Guatemala with this first rural health mission. We are dedicated to providing care to those that need us the most. Please help us help families in need.
