Team Ottawa – Duquesa, Dominican Republic, June ‘26

This June, Team Ottawa will once again travel to Duquesa in the Dominican Republic to serve alongside our partners at Community Empowerment and RUSH University.

This dedicated group of Ottawa-based volunteers will provide essential primary care to families living in the Duquesa landfill community—one of the largest landfill sites in the world. Many residents are Haitian migrant families facing extraordinarily challenging living conditions and significant barriers to consistent medical care.

Working in close collaboration with community members, our team is committed to delivering more than health care alone. We strive to foster dignity, respect, and meaningful connection, bringing life-changing treatments to individuals and families who are too often overlooked.
